About Iggesund Invercote Creato Foldable Board

It’s a tale as fold as time — you’ve got a paperboard project, but the more you fold, the more it cracks! Wear and tear can be “tearable” for keeping up appearances. Fortunately, foldable board has reached its peak with Iggesund Invercote Creato!

Case Paper and our mill partner, Iggesund, are reaching new heights of flexibility, printability, and sustainability with this new paperboard! Invercote Creato has stunning strength, versatility, and aesthetics. Your packaging deserves nothing less than the best, and Invercote Creato is just that!

This Solid Bleached Board (SBB) doesn’t crack when you fold it, thanks to its strong yet flexible composition. On top of that (literally), a patented coating provides superior lightfastness, so it’s built to last. It also has just the right whiteness level for your graphics to really stand out. It’s digital-ready and so consistent that you can input your machine settings once and print multiple runs.

But wait, there’s more! Invercote Creato’s environmental achievements include FSC, PEFC, and HP Indigo Certification and even the high honor of an EcoVadis Platinum Medal. Just because you fold into perfect packaging doesn’t mean you have to “fold” when it comes to sustainability! With Invercote Creato, you get sustainable, high-quality, consistent, strong, flexible, and attractive paperboard, all in one product.

About Holmen Iggesund

Holmen is a forest industry group, and, wood you believe it,  Holmen Iggesund is a member of that group. Iggesund Mill is the name of the mill that makes this wonderful Invercote Creato!

Are you pining for some products from sustainable forests? Well, you’re barking up the right tree! Holmen owns and manages forests to provide materials for its mills, ensuring that these products are created with the strictest adherence to sustainable forestry principles. They only use wood that is sustainably produced. Fun fact: Holmen designates certain forests as “Knowledge forests,” where people can learn firsthand about forests and responsible forestry. The company— Holmen Iggesund—then creates premium paperboard at facilities including their Swedish mill known as Iggesund. Another fun fact: flamingos are pink in part because they eat so many shrimp! Not related to paperboard, but still fun.

The Iggesund sustainability initiatives range from generating their own heat and electricity using a recovery boiler (and sometimes sharing surplus with surrounding communities), to things like sustainably conscious overseas shipping methods.

Frequently Asked Questions About This Foldable Board

What are the materials that make up Invercote Creato?

Invercote Creato is made of the sunlight reflecting off newly fallen mountaintop snow (metaphorically speaking). The actual materials are just as fresh (fibers), with outer layers of hardwood fiber on both sides. Then, just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Invercote Creato has softwood fibers in the middle, making it durable, but also nice and bendy, so this foldable board is easy to, well, fold! Surrounding all that, both sides have top coating and base coating. This creates a smooth surface that also prints like a dream.

I need a board I can fold without any tearing or cracking. Will Invercote Creato work for me?

Invercote Creato has been specifically engineered to hold up under folding without tearing or cracking. A perfect chocolate chip cookie is crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Much like that, Invercote Creato is harder on the outside and softer in the middle, providing unparalleled strength and flexibility. That said, Invercote does not have any chocolate chips. Those would probably make printing difficult.

While prioritizing foldable strength, Invercote Creato does not sacrifice anything in the aesthetics department. This paperboard has the right level of whiteness to make your graphics show up and the smoothness needed for excellent printability.

Is Invercote Creato foldable paperboard a good fit for packaging food?

Absolutely! Invercote Creato serves up amazingly functional food and confectionery packaging with a side of style. It’s FDA-certified for food contact, so when you combine that with its other qualities, like its consistent, high-quality printability and resilient foldability, your packaging can look good enough to eat (though we don’t recommend eating paperboard). Plus, it works well for a range of uses beyond food.

What are the recommended uses or applications for Invercote Creato?

In terms of what you can use it for, Creato is professional-yoga-teacher flexible. If you’re wondering what the digitally compatible, tough-yet-smooth Invercote Creato is good for, allow us to overwhelm you with suggestions! When you want to easily create high-end packaging that dazzles your customers, here are some ideas for how to use Invercote Creato:

  • Food and confectionery
  • Beautiful cosmetic packaging
  • Wines and spirits carriers
  • Medical devices and pharmaceutical boxes
  • Carrier card holders
  • Consumer goods and retail packaging

When you’re thinking “outside the box,” Invercote Creato has many non-packaging applications, too:

  • Clothing price tags
  • Tag hangers
  • Folders, because who doesn’t love staying organized
  • Lots of graphical applications including gift cards and smart cards; your designers will cry tears of joy!

These are just a few ideas off the top of our head. We’d love to hear more about your project and help you figure out if Invercote Creato, or one of our other products, is the way to go! Give us a call at (888) CASE-1ST. Trust us, we love to talk paperboard (and paper… specialty products… and converting… you get it).

I’m looking for an environmentally friendly paperboard.

That’s not a question, but this isn’t Jeopardy, so let’s get you an answer! Yes, Invercote Creato has got eco-cred. Firstly, it’s got HP Indigo Certification, so it can be used with HP Indigo environmentally friendly presses and inks. Secondly, not to brag, but Invercote Creato received a 2023 EcoVadis Platinum Medal, meaning that when this paperboard was evaluated on a range of environmental and other factors, it came out in the top 1%.

And if medaling in environmental protection isn’t enough to impress you, Invercote Creato is also a triple threat of forestry certifications: FSC, and PEFC. Let us help you out of that alphabet soup:

FSC is the Forest Stewardship Council. Their certification indicates a product’s compliance with their standards for sustainable forestry practices. By uniting industry, community, academia, and more, FSC ensures that forests and the people who benefit from forests are protected.

The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) puts its label on products where the components of that product come from a forest that PEFC has certified, where deforestation is avoided and biodiversity is protected.

Invercote Creato is proudly made with care for the environment, and it has the labels and accolades to prove it. But don’t worry, it’s still charmingly modest.

What’s it like to print on Invercote Creato? How does the final product come out?

Those are excellent questions, just what we’d expect from a distinguished customer like yourself. Here are some of the highlights. First, Invercote Creato is digitally compatible for your modern convenience. Secondly, it’s got the consistency that you can depend on, so go ahead: leave those machine settings the same for repeat print runs, and you’ll see what we mean!

When it comes to the final product, Invercote Creato is designed with a whiteness level that optimizes color reproduction and print contrast. Those graphics are going to pop, and that packaging is going to send products flying off the shelves! Those gift cards are going to sell themselves! You get the idea.

What do I need to know about shipping? How much does this cost, anyway? What are the order minimums, if any? Where do I place my order? Why am I talking to a paperboard product page? Am I having an existential crisis right now?

Take a moment and breathe! You’ve got a lot of questions, and that shows your enthusiasm! But don’t worry, you’re not talking to some faceless AI. There are real people working here at Case Paper, and we can’t wait to get answers for you. Here’s how it works: you contact a Case Paper representative and tell them your life story (or whatever your paperboard needs are). We listen carefully and help you choose the right product or products for you, in the right amounts. We get you a quote and all the other information you need to make your paperboard purchase. Then, you say, “I’ll take it!” and we get you your paperboard. Simple, right? We got this.
