Everest is a true SBS paperboard, elegant yet hardworking, and ready to be folded up into the packaging your products deserve. One side has a double coat that is highly printable, and the paperboard’s shade is a blue-white. 

PaceSetter CRB is a lightweight carton board with a double coat of clay to give you the perfect surface for printing graphics. In addition to taking ink well, it is easy to glue together for the perfect packaging. PaceSetter CRB is made of recycled fibers.

Everest and PaceSetter CRB both meet FDA standards for “contact with aqueous and fatty foods,” while Everest also meets the standard for dry foods. 

PearlKote, OmniKote, and AquaKote are Solid Unbleached Sulfates (SUS). All are in compliance with FDA requirements for “contact with dry, non-fatty foods.” The surface of all three is triple coated in clay, which makes them highly printable and are made of a combination of virgin and recycled fibers. PearlKote can be ordered in a caliper ranging from medium to high. AquaKote has a unique additive making it a wet strength board, perfect to help achieve strength when in contact with water or being used in wet fill lines. This means it works well for packaging that will go in the fridge or freezer.

What materials make up GPI’s Product Portfolio? 

The materials that make up these products depend on the type you choose. PearlKote, OmniKote, and AquaKote are blends of virgin fibers and recycled fibers. PaceSetter CRB is made of recycled fibers. Everest, on the other hand, is an SBS paperboard made of virgin fibers.

Does GPI Paperboard have any sustainability certifications? 

Yes! This paperboard portfolio has multiple certifications showing that it respects the environment, depending on which type you choose. Everest meets the Chain of Custody standards of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). It also meets SFI’s Certified Sourcing Standard. PaceSetter CRB complies with the Recycled Paperboard Association standards. PearlKote, OmniKote, and AquaKote meet the forest certification standards for Chain of Custody of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) Chain of Custody.

Are there products in GPI’s portfolio designed for food contact? Can it be used for beverage packaging? What are its applications?

Yes! All types of GPI products sold by Case Paper are FDA compliant for some type of food contact, with the exact type depending on the type of GPI product you choose.

GPI has a product that works well for packaging beverages. For example, AquaKote, which has been designed to resist tearing when wet (as well as when dry), is an excellent choice for beverage packaging.

Similarly, PearlKote, OmniKote, and AquaKote are all designed to fold into packaging with amazing printability and come in different calipers. AquaKote also has wet tear resistance, in addition to the dry tear resistance that the sturdy PearlKote and OmniKote also have.
